Here’s a recent slate roof leak in Carlton we repaired recently
After the recent constant and heavy rains we’ve experienced this past May, we were contacted by a Carlton homeowner to stop a troublesome leak on a two storey Victorian terrace home.
This roof had a small leak in the same area for a considerable while but because access to the roof was very difficult the owners found it difficult to find anyone to help them. Having many years of experience dealing with difficult access roofs we soon found a way to the area that was leaking.
Once up on the roof, the problem was easy to detect and repair while we were there.
The internal parapet wall gutter had become blocked at its outlet through the wall. A simple unblock and clean out of the gutter fixed this leak.
Because the debris had been sitting in the gutter for a long time this area of the gutter itself was showing signs rust. The rest of this gutter was in good condition so as a safety precaution we re-coated the rusted area with weather proofing compound to extend its serviceable life.
